KARACHI: Behind the scenes contacts between Muttahida Qaumi Movement–Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) have helped ease tensions between the two political parties.
According to a report by a private news outlet, the leadership of both the parties has decided to adopt a cordial posture rather than a confronting stance to allow the situation to de-escalate.
Tension rose after the MQM-P chief levelled serious allegations against the PSP in his news conference but behind-the-scenes contact helped mellow it down. Both the parties have now decided to keep mum.
The ill-fated alliance began when the MQM-P and PSP announced a merger of both parties, earlier this month and decided to contest the General Elections 2018 under “one name, one symbol and one manifesto”.
