KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair on Wednesday held Sindh government responsible for the delay in the purchase of Green Line Metro Bus project’s buses.
He added that in spite of the delay, the project would be finished by April or May of next year. The governor remarked further that no one was doing politics on the Green Line Metro Bus project.
The governor was talking to media after reviewing the progress of the project in Hyderi area of Karachi.
He said that all efforts were being made to turn Karachi into a model city.
The governor said that Karachi, which was once considered one the most dangerous cities in the world had turned a new leaf and was now free of all major crimes.
Following the amelioration of its situation, foreign investments in Karachi have gone up while “foreigners arriving in Karachi are finding it hard to book rooms in hotels now,” he said, adding that Rangers had played a special role in bringing peace to the city.
He said that Karachi was on its way to achieving all development goals set by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz when it came to power in 2013. The governor also disclosed that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, on his recent visit to Karachi, had promised to resolve issues relating to the Karachi circular railway very soon.
Speaking about other issues, the governor said that the Chinese company Shanghai was soon expected to take over the management of K-Electric.
“Karachi will emerge as a completely different city once its power woes are addressed,” he said.
