Two-day moot on Persian language on Nov 22

ISLAMABAD: The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and Persian Centre for Research in Iran and Pakistan is holding a two-day conference themed, “National Conference for Persian Teachers Pakistan”, which will kick off at Higher Education Commission (HEC) auditorium on Wednesday. The event will be organised by the Iranian Cultural Consulate in collaboration with HEC.

Federal Minister for Education Balighur Rehman would preside over the conference while Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Hunarmand Dost would be the chief guest. A high-level delegation from Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Islamic Cultural and Relations Organisation Vice Chairman Dr Qehrman Sulemani and Saadi Foundation Iran special representative Dr Raza Murad Sehrai, would also participate in the moot.

Persian teachers belonging to different colleges and universities from across the country would participate in the conference. The participants would review the challenges confronting Persian language in Pakistan, and would chalk out a strategy for ensuring its survival.

The speakers would give their inputs regarding advancement of the Persian language by agreeing on the methods and potential strategy for the future. The distinguished teachers, who have rendered valuable services for the promotion of Persian language, would be awarded with “Saadi and Iqbal Awards 2017”, to be conferred on them by the Iranian government.
