LAHORE: The opposition benches have demanded Punjab provincial government to build toilets alongside roads and streets and launch a comprehensive campaign to create awareness among masses about the use of toilets.

According to reports, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Malik Taimoor Masood made this demand through a resolution submitted to the Punjab Assembly on Monday.

He contended in the resolution that Pakistan is on number 5th in the world where people answer nature’s call in open places. More than 20 million people do not have the facility of toilets, he added.

The opposition bench collectively demanded the government to take action in this regard in order to avoid diseases caused by non-availability and poor conditions of toilets.
