Maryam says former PM is people’s leader
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Maryam Nawaz has said that no force can remove the love of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from people’s hearts, as he was the people’s leader in the past and today as well.
She was talking to journalists after concluding the visit of the NA-120, the constituency where she successfully ran election campaign of her mother, the ailing Kulsoom Nawaz – for the by-poll and won the seat.
Mayram said that she was glad to see the determination and enthusiasm of the workers as PML-N has always served the people. “No power can face the power of vote,” she said, adding that the PML-N would get success in the next election like previous one and opponents will concede defeat.
Earlier, Maryam inaugurated the Modal Sanda Road, spread to 3.2km, and workers have warmly welcomed her. They showered her with rose petals and chanted slogans in favour of the PML-N leadership. After the completion of the visit, she returned to the Jati Umra.
In a series of tweets, Maryam said that the democracy in the country was defeating all conspiracies against it. She said that they bow their heads in humility and gratitude, praising Almighty Allah. Without naming his father, she said everybody wanted a single person minus, but they could not.
“He (Nawaz) was not a person,” she said, adding that an ideology cannot be subtracted. “This is the verdict of the people,” she said and added that the democracy stands firm against conspiracies for the first time. “This gives hope for a better future,” she added. She also paid tribute to the ones who stood by her father despite all the threats and pressure.
