GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday claimed the arrest of seven people in Sadoke area. The accused are suspected of involvement in trafficking of people whose bullet-ridden bodies had been recovered in Turbat last week.
Out of the seven arrested, four people belong to Balochistan.
In addition, the FIA also recovered 142 Pakistan passports, latest electronic machines and various other documents from the suspects’ custody.
FIA Deputy Director Khalid Anis has claimed that the accused were involved in trafficking people to Europe via Iraq, Iran.
The main accused Husnain was found to be in contact with a wanted suspect, Akhtar Meo, involved in the Turbat killing incident.
In another operation conducted in Gujrat, the FIA arrested a facilitator of Sohail Shakeel, who had been taken into custody on Monday over charges of facilitating the illegal journey to Germany via Turbat during which five labourers had been killed by terrorists.
Moreover, authorities have arrested a number of individuals in Quetta and parts of Punjab.
Back on Nov 15, fifteen bodies, bearing bullet wounds, were found in Buleda near Turbat tehsil in Balochistan’s Kech district. They were of people from different parts of Punjab, including Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Sialkot.
Then, on Nov 17, five more bodies were found in Turbat albeit at a distance from the previous spot.
