Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) chief Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi said the talks with the government stood where they were and the protestors were ready to continue their sit-in through the winter irrespective of the cold weather.

Showing a complete lack of remorse whatsoever about the media persons beaten up by the protestors, he said, “It’s good that they were thrashed. If they’d say something wrong, they’ll be beaten up”.

Talking to Dunya News on Sunday, TLYR chief said that the talks with the government stood where they were and the protestors were ready to sit in the winter no matter how cold it got.

Every Pakistani stood with his cause, he said, adding that no leniency had been shown by the protestors on the issue of Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s resignation.

Dismissing the concerns about children being unable to go to schools, Khadim Rizvi said that the issue of Prophet’s (SAW) honour was the biggest issue of the world. “Thank God that some girl couldn’t go to school. Prophet’s (SAW) honour was the biggest issue of the world. So what if girls couldn’t go to school. They get failed as well. They can continue their studies a year later,” he said.

Commenting on the negative coverage that Pakistan was receiving in the foreign media due to this sit-in, Rizvi said that nobody had a problem when Raymond Davis left the country.

He said that there was no plan but to sit here and keep sitting as long as the demands aren’t met. He said that there was no leniency shown and all media reports claiming such things were false.

Quoting a couplet from Allama Iqbal, Rizvi said that the only way for the Muslim Ummah to unite was the love for Prophet (SAW). He said that his party was completely independent and they contested their elections, despite being under heavy debts. He added that his party will contest elections from all parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Pir of Golra Sharif, Syed Ghulam Nizamuddin Jami, who has been trying to mediate between the government and the protesting Labaik, said that Law Minister Zahid Hamid was willing to resign, but the ruling PML-N was not allowing him to step down. “The law minister has admitted his mistake according to our sources, but now the ruling party is putting pressure on him and urging him not to resign,” Jami said.
