Law of PTI doesn’t dictate removal on basis of video message: Kundi

After his allegations against fellow party member Ali Amin Gandapur and subsequent reaction of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan of his removal, Dawar Khan Kundi on Sunday said the party chief had no authority to expel an MNA from the party via a video message.

“He may be the chairman of the party, but the laws of the party do not dictate a removal on the basis of a video message,” Kundi told a local media outlet.

He further cemented his stance, saying that he had not done anything wrong nor did he violate any party rules, so it was illogical to threaten him with expulsion.

Regarding allegations levelled against Gandapur, he clarified that he had only claimed that Gandapur facilitated the suspects. “I don’t think Imran has even read the letter, I think he heard the news and reacted to it.”

“Who gave Imran a right to call me a liar,” Kundi said, adding that he would file a case against the Imran and submit an application in the party.

On the morning of October 27, when a girl was accosted by a group of men, who stripped her and dragged her along the ground before making her parade on the streets naked for an hour. Following the incident, Kundi accused Gandapur of facilitating the culprits and wrote a letter to the party chief for an action against him.
