PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak has said that CPEC is a great game-changing project for the region requiring a high level of preparedness, and KP government made all preparations and took a number of concrete steps in this regard.
Khattak said this while addressing IT Infrastructure Inaugural Ceremony at Peshawar Edwardes College. It was also addressed by Principal of the college Professor Dr Nayer Fardows and other academicians who highlighted various aspects of the historical background of the college and features of the new IT infrastructure. They also appreciated the reforms initiatives of the provincial government.
The CM said that information technology is the most important sector for CPEC, which enhances the productive capacity of all other sectors. He also asked educational institutions to focus on producing IT experts to hone all skills, including software and hardware, electronics, telecommunication etc., to give a boost to all the developments under CPEC and non-CPEC projects.
He also called upon the youth to attain a high level of professionalism in IT as well as other spheres of higher education to ensure bright future for the nation.
The event was attended by professors and students of the college in a large number. It was also attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani.
On this occasion, the chief minister also gave away shields and souvenirs to the professors and management of BSIT and IT Infrastructure Section of the college. He said, “Our government is fully focused on education with an emphasis on IT and technical education.”
