ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa will leave for Saudi Arabia Tuesday.
They will hold meetings with high officials of Saudi Arabia.
Sources said that ISI Chief Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar will also accompany the prime minister and COAS.
PM Abbasi will meet the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman—also known as MbS—and other high officials.
They will discuss bilateral relations, including the security situation of the region.
It is pertinent to mention here that Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Chief of General Staff General Bilal Akbar had also visited Saudi Arabia last month.
They had participated in a high-level Saudi-led alliance meeting on terrorism in Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia is passing through a critical era of its history.
Earlier this month, Riyadh detained dozens of top-serving and former officials, including 11 members of the royal family, in a wide-ranging crackdown that it says is aimed at rooting out corruption and reclaiming embezzled funds.
It is important to mention here that first meeting of Islamic Alliance against terrorism is being held on November 26 in Riyadh.
The alliance aims at strengthening cooperation and integration among the member states. “This alliance will primarily focus on enhancing cooperation, as taking military action against any country, especially a Muslim state, will be the last option,” Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed al Malki has said.
According to foreign news agencies, the agenda of the meeting is to unite against terrorism.
The meeting will be attended by defence ministers of 41 member countries and representatives of diplomatic missions.
