NEW DELHI: India’s Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj has confirmed to a Pakistani woman via a tweet on Sunday that her ailing mother would be granted an Indian visa for treatment.
Sadia had earlier requested the Indian minister through twitter that her ailing mother needs urgent medical treatment hence a medical visa be granted to her. In response, Swaraj tweeted that she had directed the the Indian mission in Pakistan to look into the matter.

In addition, Swaraj had also directed the authorities to look into a medical visa request tweeted by Nasir Mahmood Ahmad who required a medical visa for a kidney transplant.
The Indian minister has responded to a number of twitter requests placed by Pakistanis granting them Indian visas on medical grounds.
On November 13, Swaraj had directed the Indian Embassy in Islamabad to grant a medical visa on an urgent basis to the family of a 16-month-old child who had been suffering from an acute heart defect from birth.
Earlier, the minister had directed the Indian consulate in United Arab Emirates (UAE) to issue a visa to a Dubai- based Pakistani family for the treatment of their son who suffered from a heart disease.
