According to Balochistan government spokesperson, these five were also shot dead the same day as other fifteen people, whose bodies were found on Wednesday in Turbat. The deceased were said to be residents of Punjab who were being sent to Europe, via Iran, illegally through human smuggling agents.

On Friday, the army claimed the death of one of the people involved in the killing of the 15 men in an operation by the Frontier Corps.
