Saudi ambassador meets CM Shehbaz to discuss issues of mutual interest

LAHORE: Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki called on Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday to discuss matters of mutual interest, promotion of ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and enhancement of cooperation in various fields.

Talking to the ambassador, CM Shehbaz said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were tied in religious, historic and culture bonds, adding that the people of both the countries shared close spiritual and brotherly links.

He said that the hearts of the people of both the countries beat in unison, thus allowing them to equally share each other’s happiness and miseries. He said Saudi Arabia had always extended diplomatic support to Pakistan, adding that the Arab country had provided praiseworthy support for social development and promotion of industry and trade in Pakistan.

Moreover, the chief minister said that the Arab country had always supported Pakistan wholeheartedly in testing times. He said that Pakistan gave special significance to ties with Saudi Arabia to further strengthen the existing ties.

He also said that trade and industrial links between both the countries was cementing further. He further said that the government was making efforts to bring about improvement in every field of life, while adding that reasonable resources were being spent for this purpose.

On the occasion, Al-Maliki praised the measures taken by the Punjab government for improvement in the social sector and for the prosperity of the public. He said that Saudi Arabia gave special importance to ties with Pakistan, and friendly and brotherly relationships between both countries was strengthening with the passage of time.
