Police arrest 12 accused in massive crackdown

KARACHI: Police claimed to have arrested 12 suspects in different targeted raids in the metropolis in the early hours of Saturday.

According to police sources, on a tipoff, a police team raided a house in Gulberg area and detained three motorcycle lifters, and recovered cash and weapons form their possessions.

Meanwhile, a police party caught two street criminals, Fazil and Faheem from Landhi No-1. The police said that the accused were snatching valuables from the people.

During the crackdown by the brigade police against street criminals, one dacoit Bilawal Ali alias Biloo was arrested from Quaidabad. During interrogation, the accused disclosed he along with his late accomplices, Habib alias Pathan and Mohsin alias Dogoo, had committed more than 50 street crimes and injured three people in different parts of the city.

The police also recovered a TT pistol, with four rounds, and a motorbike from their possession.

During different search operations in Surjani, Baldia and Orangi towns, the police arrested six drug peddlers and recovered drugs from them.

The police have registered FIRs against detainees and have initiated further investigations.
