PTI MNA Dawar Khan Kundi had demanded the removal of PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur for allegedly providing logistic and physical support to the criminals involved in the incident. The PTI later issued a show cause notice to Kundi after receiving complaints of violating party discipline against him.
Kundi had said that he personally investigated the matter and found the PTI minister responsible for harbouring the accused, and this had brought shame to the party. He had also taken up the issue in Parliament.
According to the police, the 16-year-old girl’s brother had a premarital affair with a woman. After learning about it, the village’s council ruled that the woman’s family could retaliate by disrespecting his sister.
On the morning of October 27, when the girl was fetching water, a group of men accosted and stripped her, dragging along the ground before making her walk around naked for an hour. The girl ran and sought refuge in the house of a religious leader.
