Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the era of progress initiated by his party should continue.

Nawaz, while speaking to media in Murree, also remarked that he feels proud that people have showered him with so much love and respect.

“I love all my supporters equally,” he said. “Please pray that God blesses Pakistan and PML-N.”

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president also said that a programme for the prosperity and progress of the poor will be implemented in the future.

Earlier, Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Nawaz tweeted about former prime minister’s visit to Murree, saying: “Locals gathered outside our Murree house to catch his glimpse. Having breakfast we heard loud chants of ‘Mian sb I love u’.”

The Chief Justice of Pakistan had earlier dismissed Nawaz’s appeal on the registrar’s decision, rejecting his petition which sought an end to the multiple corruption cases against him.

The former PM on October 13 had approached the apex court seeking an end to the multiple references against him and pleaded that they are combined into one.

However, the apex court’s registrar had rejected the petition, saying the petitioner needs to approach the relevant forum.

Later, Nawaz appealed the registrar’s decision which was heard in-camera today by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, who dismissed the appeal.
