LAHORE: According to a private news outlet, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday raided the Lahore Waste Management Company’s (LWMC) office in Shaheen Complex and seized the service record of LWMC’s managing director.

The NAB team took the company’s records from Managing Director Hassan Bhatti and Planning General Manager Nusrat Gul in their custody. It had earlier demanded the local bodies secretary for the handing over of these documents to the bureau but its orders were not complied with.

Besides these documents, NAB also acquired the details of development projects and ongoing work at Lakhodair landfill site and Mehmood Booti dumping site

The director general of NAB has taken it upon himself to investigate LWMC’s alleged illegal activities.

It is worth mentioning that a private media outlet had earlier discovered irregularities upward of Rs80 billion in the financial records of 56 companies formed by the Punjab government during the past several years.
