Lies and deceit do not serve people: Shehbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that those who were involved in politics of lies and deceit should realise that hindering the process of development is of no service to the people.

He said that people who do not have a passion for public service do not want progress in the country either. He said that such people were merely wasting the nation’s time, adding that their political futures were bleak as the general public would reject such promoters of negative politics.

He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had treated public service as a noble cause and endeavoured to make Pakistan better.

The chief minister also expressed his displeasure at “a particular political party’s head” whose whole politics were based on falsehood and deceit and who was the “founder of the politics of anarchy, falsehood and hypocrisy”.

The chief minister was expressing these views as he spoke to a number of National Assembly members calling on him, including federal parliamentary secretaries Alimdad Lalika, Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani and Tahir Bashir Cheema.
