KARACHI: Law enforcement personnel arrested 17 alleged criminals, including three Lyari gang war members, during search operations in different parts of the metropolis in the wee hours of Friday.
According to the Rangers spokesman, a targeted raid was carried out in Lyari area and three gang war members, Muhammad Younus, Muhammad Rahim, alias Saleem and Sadaam were arrested. The rangers said that the accused were involved in targeted killings, extortion, drug peddling and several other crimes.
Separately, paramilitary forces conducted search operations in Aziz Bhatti area, SITE area and Alfalah Society and apprehended 11 criminals, including Nadeem, Muhammad Sajjid, Abid, Bhraam Khan, Mukhtiar, Shah Nawaz, Zamir, Muhammad Khaliq, Jatandar, Bilal, and a MQM-London activist, Shah Zaman.
The rangers said that the accused were stated to be involved in different criminal activities in the city.
During a combing operation in the Baldia Town area, a police team detained three suspected criminals.
The LEAs also recovered weapons, bullets, motorcycles, cell phones, drugs, and contrabands from their possession and shifted them to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
