SAHIWAL: A death row convict Muhammad Tahir was hanged in Central Jail Sahiwal on Thursday.
The accused was charged with the murder of his pregnant wife. According to details, the accused had gunned down his pregnant wife Asma over a domestic row in 2007 in Shamsabad area of Sheikhupura.
Tahir was awarded a death sentence by an additional session judge on June 30, 2008, and his subsequent appeals to both the high court and the Supreme Court were rejected. Later, the president rejected the convict’s mercy appeal on August 24, 2017.
