ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday asked all the stakeholders to work jointly to strengthen democracy in the country.
Talking to media outside the accountability court, Saad Rafique said that negative attitude of the opposition parties was damaging the democracy in the country. “Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will succeed in every case against him,” he added.
The minister said that no evidence against Nawaz Sharif was found and he was disqualified only because of possessing an Iqama. He asked the opposition parties to laud the development work done by the government instead of hatching conspiracies against the ruling party.
He also said that the government will continue to work for the people regardless of the hurdles put in its path, and added that it was the right of every government to complete its constitutional tenure.
Saad Rafique also said that Imran Khan was busy in pressurising national institutions to achieve his goals.
The opposition is doing politics of lies and baseless allegations, he added.
He expressed confidence that the people will vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the upcoming general elections in 2018.
The former prime minister is fighting a case for the supremacy of law and constitution, he said, adding that Nawaz presented himself and his family for accountability to uphold the sanctity of law and Constitution.
