Indian troops martyr two more young Kashmiris

SRINAGAR: Indian troops in a fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district of the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK), according to the Kashmir Media Service on Tuesday.

The troops killed the youth during a violent crackdown operation at Kund in Qazigund area of the district. People took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the stepped-up state terrorism. Another crackdown operation reported at Lam in Tral area of Pulwama district.

The authorities have suspended mobile and internet services in Islamabad, Kulgam and Pulwama districts. On the other hand, complete shutdown observed in Palhalan, Bratkalan and Sopore areas of Baramulla district against the killing of Ashiq Ahmad Butt and Tayyeb Majeed Mir.

They were martyred by the troops in a fake encounter in Handwara area of the district last evening. The authorities have also suspended rail service in the disputed territory. Despite restrictions and heavy deployment of the men in uniform, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of two youth at Brath Kalan and Pattan areas of Baramulla district.
