ISLAMABAD: Disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ayesha Gulalai on Wednesday accused party chief Imran Khan and MNA Ali Amin Gandapur of maintaining links with the Taliban.

Claiming it to be public knowledge in a press conference, Gulalai said, “Everyone knows Niazi and Gandapur have links with the Taliban. This is why journalists, DC and others are afraid of them, she added.

Moreover, Gulalai accused Gandapur of having links with drug users.

Referring to an instance when alcohol was recovered from Gandapur’s car in 2016, Gulalai said, “Everyone knew what was seized from his car.”

Gulalai also came down hard on Khan for staying silent on the Dera Ismail (DI) Khan incident during which a girl was stripped and paraded naked in public since the accused were allegedly supported by Gandapur.

“Imran talks about justice, he comments about everything under the sun but hasn’t said a word about the incident,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, Gandapur denied allegations of supporting the accused in the DI Khan incident and promised to visit the survivor’s family to clear the air and ensured his support after PTI MNA Dawar Khan Kundi called for the removal Gandapur for providing “logistic and physical support to the criminals” involved in the DI Khan incident.

According to the police, the girl’s brother had an affair with a woman. After learning about it, the village council ruled that the woman’s family could get even by disrespecting his sister.

On the morning of Oct 27, when the victim was fetching water, a group of men accosted her, stripped her and dragged her along the ground before making her parade on the streets naked for an hour.

The police took notice of the issue after the incident sparked an outrage on the social media.
