No-confidence motion: Opposition in PA decides to give Shehla Raza a final chance

KARACHI: The opposition in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday warned that they would table a no-confidence motion against Deputy Speaker Syeda Shehla Raza if she does not improve her behaviour.

Opposition members from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, talking to media persons outside the assembly, said that the opposition was on the same page and was united on the no-confidence issue.

PML-F MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said that the attitude of the deputy speaker was bad towards elected MPAs of the opposition.

She said that the joint opposition had prepared a no-confidence motion against her and was giving her a final chance to abstain from misbehaving with them and if she did not improve her attitude then they would not let her run proceedings of the assembly.

MQM-Pakistan MPA Sumeeta Afzal Syed said that Shehla Raza never conducted proceedings in a good manner. She said that Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani did run the business of the House in a calm way.

PML-N MPA Sorath Thebo, taking the deputy speaker to task, said that she (Shehla) ran the business of the assembly using unusual language.

PTI-MPA Dr Seema Zia said that the deputy speaker was also a lady and she must treat them in better a way. She said that her way of conducting proceedings in the assembly disappointed them all.
