DALBANDIN: Heavy thunderstorm lashed areas along the Pak-Iran border resulting in flash floods in the mountainous terrain of nearby areas in Balochistan province.

The flash floods in mountainous areas near Pak-Iran border have inundated the roads, thereby leaving them less accessible and in turn causing hardships to motorists.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan Meteorological Office had already informed that a rain-bearing weather system is expected to enter in the country and is likely to grip upper and central parts of the country on Monday and Tuesday.

Rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Balochistan (Quetta, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Zhob and Makran divisions), and at isolated places in Sindh. Rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in KP, FATA, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions), Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, while at isolated places in south Punjab (Multan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur divisions) from Monday to Wednesday.

The Met department has also informed that prevalent smoggy conditions in urban areas will subside in the coming week due to fall in temperature and expected rain.
