DUBAI: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has asked the embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to grant a medical visa to a Dubai-based Pakistani family whose son is suffering from a rare heart disease. The minister responded to Touqeer Ali’s tweet 12 hours after receiving request for help.
Responding to Touqeer Ali’s tweet, the minister said: “Please do not worry. I [Sushma Swaraj] have asked to grant visa for the open heart surgery of your child to India.”

Ali, the father of the ailing child had on Saturday tweeted informing the Indian minister about a visa application that had been put forward through Consulate General of India in the UAE on September 18.
Ali requested for help from Swaraj for his son who was advised a rare open-heart surgery for Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries [CCTGA] by doctors.
