- PPP chairman says Nawaz try to escape after making Panama case controversial
LAHORE: Calling the political situation in Karachi during last many days a farce, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said the citizens of the metropolitan won’t give importance to these “puppet politicians”.
In his message on Twitter on Sunday, he said that Karachi was in the grips of farce politics for the last many days. “What a farce Karachi politics has been for the past few days. Our city deserves better,” he tweeted.

Like all the previous puppets in Karachi, these puppets also failed, he remarked, adding if the PPP comes to power then it will “bring progress in Karachi along with a clean leadership.”
Moreover, while speaking to journalists in Lahore, Bilawal reiterated PPP’s stance on the supremacy of democracy, law and constitution, saying, “We haven’t deserted [our] ideology nor will we change our thinking. There is no ambiguity about this is our party. We will not support any undemocratic move.”
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Farooq Sattar and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal had said they had decided to do away with their differences to ensure that the vote bank from Sindh, especially Karachi, was not divided, announcing an alliance between the two parties.
However, only a day after the announcement, Sattar had said that he was left disappointed following the response by PSP leaders and its workers over the alliance. On Saturday, Kamal had alleged that the military establishment had pressed his party to form an alliance with Farooq Sattar-led MQM-P upon latter’s request, as the MQM-P denied seeking a merger between the two parties and accused Kamal of hurling allegations against state institutions.
Taking a jibe at his political rival and ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, the PPP chairman said Nawaz Sharif is trying to escape after making the Panama case controversial, but he [Nawaz] cannot be “saved” now. He further said that justice will also be served in Hudaibiya Paper Mills case and Model Town tragedy, as the Pakistanis are well aware of the situation and will thwart all the escape attempts made by the accused.
