KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Dr Farooq Sattar on Friday announced a march to Yadgar-e-Shuhuda located at Azizabad.
In a video message, Sattar announced that his party would take out a march from Ayesha Manzil and proceed to Yadgar-e-Shuhuda to honour the martyrs of Pakistan.
“To pay tribute to our martyrs, we will march towards the martyrs’ monument (Yadgar-e-Shuhada) from Ayesha Manzil tomorrow 11th November at 3 pm,” read a tweet from Farooq Sattar.
“Long live Pakistan, long live MQM-Pakistan,” he said at the end of the video.
Dr Farooq Sattar had announced his resignation from MQM-Pakistan and politics on Thursday in a controversial press conference. After his announcement, party workers and leaders protested and urged the leader to take back his resignation.
At the behest of his mother, Farooq Sattar took back his resignation and returned as MQM-Pakistan’s chief. He had, during his press conference, voiced reservations as to why MQM workers and leaders were not allowed to pay their respects at the martyrs’ monument.
