Farhatullah Babar resigns from parliamentary committee

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party leader Farhatullah Babar, on Thursday has resigned from the parliamentary committee on accountability laws.

The resignation came after the recommendation of Senator Farhatullah, advising the committee to hold judges and generals accountable was dismissed.

A copy of the resignation was also shared with members of the parliamentary committee during a session on Thursday.

Earlier in October, Senator Farhatullah Babar had also resigned from Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence.

While speaking to the media, Babar refused to comment on the reason for his resignation. However, he raised questions over parliamentarians visiting the military headquarters.

Babar was eventually replaced by Farooq H Naek in the defence committee.
