LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday sought record of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) about arrival/departure of planes from Turkey to Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on October 13 and 14 after the petitioners’ counsel hinted that the kidnapped Turkish teacher- Mesut Kacmaz- might have been deported from Lahore.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza passed the orders on petitions, filed against the deportation of Turkish teachers, affiliated with Pak-Turk Schools and Colleges – Murat Ervan and Mesut and his three family members.
As the proceedings started, the petitioners’ counsel Osama Malik submitted that the CCPO Lahore did not comply with court directions for provision of security at the residence of the petitioners in Wapda Town, Lahore.
Upon this, a provincial law officer, on behalf of the CCPO, submitted a report and claimed that four police constables had been deployed at the residence of the petitioners and they were performing duty on a rotational basis.
The petitioners’ counsel, however, insisted that no police constables were deputed at the residence of the petitioners.
At this, the court asked the law officer to apprise the court about the place where the police constables were deputed.
A counsel, on behalf of the CAA, submitted a list of passengers who travelled on Oct 13-14 from/to Turkey-Islamabad airport, in compliance with the court orders.
But, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that the kidnapped teacher, Mesut Kacmaz, along with his wife might have been deported from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
At this, the court directed a federal law officer to provide the record of the CAA regarding arrival/departure of planes on Oct 13-14 from/to Turkey to the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. The hearing was adjourned till Nov 16.
