SALU distributes scholarship cheques to students

SUKKUR: A cheque distribution ceremony of Indus Scholarships was held at Khairpur Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) on Wednesday.

The ceremony was sponsored by Abdul Fatah Memorial Trust.

SALU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Parveen Shah distributed the cheques among 17 students of the Department of Business Administration on the need-cum-merit basis.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said that she was thankful to Abdul Fatah Memorial Trust for assisting the students financially. She also directed the students to take part in positive discourse and keep away from militancy and extremism.

Department of Business Administration Chairperson Professor Dr Iram Rani Sheikh lauded the efforts of patron of Abdul Fatah Memorial Trust patron Shafqat Memon for increasing scholarships from 13 to 17. Dr Rani also shared the academic and research development of the department and said, “This scholarship is being distributed among the students on the basis of transparency and merit.”

A total of Rs1,10,500 were distributed with each student getting Rs6,500. Students who received the scholarship were Aqsa Phulpoto, Shabana Batool, Aisha Rani, Hira Memon, Soomia, Abdul Jabbar Dayo, Waqar Ali Hattar, Marvi Soomro, Abdul Ahad Mallah and others.

Registrar Dr Asad Raza Abidi, Media Coordinator Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari, Ali Ahmed Kandhar and Saleh Unar were also present on the occasion.
