Lyari gangster among four arrested by rangers

KARACHI: The Sindh Rangers on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four criminals, including a Lyari gang war member, from different parts of the metropolis.

Spokesman for the paramilitary force said that the rangers’ team conducted a targeted raid in Baldia town area and apprehended a Lyari gang war member Shahid alias Chaga. The accused was involved in target killing, extortion and several other criminal cases.

During crackdown on street criminals, a rangers’ party detained a criminal Naveed from Jackson area.  Separately, the paramilitary force conducted search operations in Liaqatabad and Gabol Town areas and arrested two members of Muttahida Quami Movement-London (MQM-L). The accused were identified as Muhammad Hussain and Javaid Akhtar Saddiqui.

The rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons, contraband and drugs form their possession.

The detainees would be handed over to police for legal proceedings, said rangers.
