KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khowaja on Monday took notice of news in media about cops misbehaving with the citizens in violation of police rules and regulations.
The IGP directed all DIGs and district SSPs to probe the matter in the light of media news and social media footage and suspend the cops found involved in violation of police rules and regulations. Policemen should be role model for the civilians and follow the police rule and regulations, he added.
The IGP also directed all DIGs (Traffic) to remove illegal parking areas and encroachments in the city with the cooperation of local administration. He said that stern action should be taken against those running illegal parking, including showroom owners.
