LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with former US ambassador to Pakistan Robin Raphel at his office on Monday.
The visiting dignitary stated that the US attaches great importance to maintaining ties with Pakistan, read a statement released after the meeting.
Shehbaz stated that Pakistan enjoys long-standing relations with the US and envisions further strengthening of bilateral ties on an equal basis.
Sharif called on the international community to collaborate for ensuring peace and security. He also apprised Raphel about the progress that Pakistan has made during the incumbent PML-N government.
He highlighted that impending issues of terrorism and energy crisis among others have been addressed on a priority basis. The chief minister also condemned the recent Texas shooting and paid his condolences over the loss of precious lives.
