PML-Q’s Shujaat Hussain, Shujaat Hussain appear before NAB today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain have on Monday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore office to provide details of assets possessed by the two to the bureau.

NAB had reportedly launched an investigation against the two PML-Q leaders 12 years ago – before General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf was in power to a case pertaining to possession of assets beyond known sources of income.

Hussain briefly remained prime minister of Pakistan in 2004 while his relative Elahi was the chief minister of Punjab from 2002-2007.

Hussain and Elahi have both remained close aides of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf.

The two PML-Q leaders are expected to appear in the trial court on Monday and have reasserted that they will present proofs to prove themselves innocent to the authorities.

As per reports, the brothers have been alleged of involvement in Rs 2.428 billion corruption case.

Nab summons Dar’s sons

The NAB Lahore has also summoned Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s sons on Monday in a graft reference against their father for possessing assets disproportionate to declared sources of income.

According to a NAB spokesperson, Hasnain Dar and Ali Dar are expected to record their statements on Monday.
