Just a while ago, Mahira Khan was caught in a controversy with Ranbir Kapoor when pictures of her were shared on social media in which the actress was seen sharing a smoke with the Bollywood actor.
The Verna actress received a lot of backlash from the Pakistani community in particular and was criticized for her “frivolous” attitude. However, many celebrities from Pakistan and India spoke in favour of Mahira and slammed those who pointed fingers at her.
The latest celeb to share his thoughts on this incident and social media, in general, is Bollywood heartthrob, Ranveer Singh, who in a recent interview with Filmfare magazine said, “I can only speak for myself here. There are times when I’m at a certain place with certain people and I don’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. But, you can’t help it. You got to take the bad with the good.”
He further added, “Everyone has their own interpretation. Everyone has their own set of values. Everyone has an opinion. You can hear them but you needn’t subscribe to them. At the end of the day, one should just live and let live and focus on more important things. Mahira is a great performer and an entertainer. One should ideally engage with her at just that level.”
It is heartening to see actors in the film industry support each other regardless of which side of the border they are at.
Singh will be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati in which he will be portraying the character of the most powerful ruler of the Khilji dynasty of Delhi Sultanate in the Indian subcontinent, Alauddin Khilji. The film also starres Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.
