KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has constituted an enquiry committee to probe the allegations of improper conduct of Public Sector Medical Colleges/ Universities entry test conducted on October 22, 2017, through National Testing Service (NTS) at various centres.
The enquiry committee is headed by Special Secretary (Admn) Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, and it also includes Hyderabad Health Services Director-General Dr Muhammad Akhlaq Khan, Karachi Lyari General Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Khalil Ahmed Pathan and Karachi Development Additional Director Mohsin Sheikh.
Karachi Directorate of Health Additional Director (Field) Dr Nadeem Akhtar Sheikh will be its convener/member.
The terms of references of the committee will be to ascertain the veracity of allegations appearing in print and social media that question paper and answer key was leaked and provided to candidates prior to test on receiving illegal gratification, and to probe into the process involved in medical college entry test conducted through NTS for admissions in public sector medical colleges / universities in the province. It will also record and probe statements of stakeholders, including the students and parents, to submit the findings along with recommendations within ten days and the committee can co-opt any member for assistance as per requirement.
