LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned home from London on Sunday morning.
The Punjab chief minister had flown to London on October 29 to enquire after the health of his sister-in-law, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, and meet his elder brother Nawaz Sharif, who returned to Pakistan earlier this week to face trial in corruption cases.
During his week-long stay in the British capital, Shehbaz held meetings with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and overseas Pakistanis.
Prior to returning to Pakistan, ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with close aides, including the younger Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, to discuss party affairs, including reports of rifts within its ranks and corruption cases that the Sharif family is facing.
Prior to returning home, Shehbaz had an exclusive meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in London, who was in the British capital for his address at the London School of Economics.
