KARACHI: Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) President Ayaz Latif Palijo on Sunday said that those opposing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and their allies were enemies of the state.
He was addressing a “mohabbat-e-Sindh” procession at Tibet Centre in Karachi. The marchers were protesting against corruption, terrorism and extremism in Sindh and conspiracies against CPEC.
“We will not let anyone make a deal on CPEC,” Palijo said, adding that those in opposition to CPEC were traitors and that there was no place for enemies of the state in Pakistan anymore.
“QAT will strongly oppose enemies of CPEC,” he exclaimed.
Other issues dubbed “anti-Sindh”, including the plight of the agricultural economy, were also raised during the march.
The QAT leader had earlier accused Asif Ali Zardari of conspiring with the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to renew the national reconciliation order (NRO). In a press conference held in Hyderabad last month, he said that a renewed NRO with any political party would be unacceptable.
He had also accused the centre of ignoring Sindh government’s injustices in the province.
