LAHORE: A civil court on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the defamation suit filed by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over his allegation that Shehbaz had offered Rs10 billion to the latter for not pursuing Panama Case, till Nov 22.
During the hearing, Imran’s counsel appeared before the court and stated that lead counsel Dr Baber Awan was not available due to another engagement and that they should be given time for preparation to advance arguments in the case.
The court, while accepting the plea, adjourned the hearing of the case till Nov 22.
Shehbaz Sharif had filed a suit through his counsel, Mustafa Ramday, against Imran Khan for accusing a close associate of the chief minister of offering him RS10 billion to drop the Panama Papers case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
