FATA’s future should be in accordance with people’s wishes: Maulana Fazal

TANK: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Central Ameer Maulana Fazalur Rehman on Saturday said that the future of FATA should be decided keeping the wishes and aspirations of tribal people in view.

Addressing a Peace Conference at Town Hall on Saturday, he said that decision regarding FATA should be made after consultation and considering the wishes of people living in the tribal belt.

He said that tribal people have rendered matchless sacrifices for the establishment of peace in the country, adding that all tribesmen should be repatriated and rehabilitated in their native areas before taking any decision regarding FATA.

JUI-F chief said that his party’s efforts are indispensable for the attainment of greater peace, adding that those who ignored the miseries and hardships of tribal people were now deceiving them through misleading slogans. All their efforts will be foiled, Fazalur Rahman said.

JUI-F Provincial Ameer Maulana Gul Naseeb, South Waziristan Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Maulana Jamalud Din, Senator Maulana Saleh Shah and other provincial and local leaders also spoke at the conference. They recommended that FATA should be made into a separate province rather than merging it with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
