BADIN: Four newborn babies have reportedly died as a result of mal-nourishment and other related diseases within the past 24 hours in Tharparkar over 24 hours, health department reports confirmed.
The deceased include three newborn babies and a 10-day old baby.
Deaths registered in Civil Hospital, Mithi in the past three days has mounted to five, and 313 during the ongoing year.
The total death toll in government hospitals in Nagarparkar, Diplo, Islamkot, Chachro areas and others is yet to be accounted for.
Health experts have condemned the Sindh government for having failed to curtail the prevailing undernourishment and inadequate health facilities.
According to last year’s Civil Hospital’s statistics in Mithi, by February, some 122 children had reportedly died in 137 days. Grieving parents complained of inadequate medical facilities and supply of free medicines.
