PPP provincial minister accuses NAB of maintaining double standards

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah while referring to National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Sharjeel Memon case on Thursday, accused the bureau of maintaining double standards against Pakistan Peoples’ Party leaders.

Shah stated this during a press conference, adding that not a single name of any Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader has been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) despite NAB pursuing multiple graft cases against them.

“NAB has a different attitude for PPP compared to the PML-N,” he claimed, adding, “Everyone has seen how royally Nawaz Sharif has returned back to the country.”

Responding to a question, the minister called Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar ‘a self-proclaimed leader’.

He added that the government cannot approve MQM-Pakistan’s rally on their selected date since prior to MQM-P’s request, Ayaz Latif Palejo’s Qaumi Awami Tehreek party had requested the authorities to hold their public gathering on the same day.

“Sattar is trying to create an unnecessary drama. We are in fact with MQM-Pakistan on their reservations against census results,” Shah remarked.
