KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Women Wing President Faryal Talpur took notice of nine-year-old Afsheen’s condition, under which her head has hung at an unnatural angle for several years, and volunteered to bear all the expenses required for her treatment.
Afsheen is a resident of Mithi in Tharparkar district. According to her parents, she was born normal but an accident led to the development of her condition under which she cannot hold her head straight. As a result, Afsheen cannot walk, stand or eat properly, and is entirely dependent on her parents, who are poor and cannot afford her treatment.
The news of Afsheen’s ailment came into Faryal Talpur’s notice, which moved the PPP leader to facilitate the minor’s treatment. On her instructions, Afsheen has been admitted to a private hospital in Karachi, with all her expenses being borne by Talpur.
Afsheen is expected to undergo a surgery in two weeks, following her diagnosis by a team of doctors, a press statement said.
PPP women member Naaz Baloch also visited the child at the hospital on Thursday.
