HYDERABAD: At least four persons were killed and seven others were injured in separate accidents on Indus Highway near Jamshoro on Wednesday.
The Jamshoro police informed that the deceased was identified as Dr Anwar Buledi, Imdad Buledi, Abdul Hai Buledi and car driver Iqbal Panwhar, residents of Ratodero, Larkana district. The injured, who were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro, included Haider Ali, Mureed Ali, Aasia, Shabana Khan and Muhammad Khan.
According to police, the deceased had come on a visit to Jamshoro and they were returning to their hometown when the accident took place.
In another accident on the same highway near Khanote, a police officer Muhammad Aslam Bughio and his guard were injured after their car overturned and fell in a roadside ditch. The injured were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro.
Separately, five persons of a family were killed and three others injured when a dumper-truck fell on a car near Topi Bypass of Swabi area in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to details, a car was going to Islamabad from Swabi when a speeding dumper-truck fell over it near the Topi Bypass area. As a result, five people of a family died and three children sustained injuries. The bodies and injured were shifted to Swabi District Headquarters Hospital.
In another incident, a woman was killed in a road accident in Quaidabad area of the city on Wednesday.
According to rescue sources, a 40-year-old unidentified woman was hit by a fast-moving vehicle in Quaidabad. As a result, she suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
