Post office van robbed of Rs24 million near Koral police station

Six robbers got away with Rs 24 million after looting a post office vehicle in Pind Malkan area, near Koral police station, on the outskirts of Islamabad.

Police on Wednesday said the suspects, on three motorbikes, managed to flee after looting Rs24 million. Police failed to catch the culprits as the offenders had been watching the post office vehicle for a long time and were well-prepared.

This was the second time that such robbery incident happened in the vicinity of Koral Police Station. In 2015, six armed men robbed Rs4.5 million in one of the biggest bank heists of the capital, again near Koral police station.

The Koral police station is located close to the market, but the police failed to chase the robbers despite being alerted about the incident.

Police shifted the responsibility of the heist on the security guards who had been disarmed and locked in a room with other staffers.
