LONDON: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to travel to Pakistan from London today.

As per reports, Nawaz will reach Islamabad via Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-786.

Nawaz on Wednesday submitted additional documents in Islamabad High Court (IHC) over his plea to merge all three National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references against him into one.

The documents also included a copy of Nawaz’s indictment in Avenfield properties, Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments references.

The accountability court is due to conduct the next graft hearing against Nawaz and his family in connection with the references filed by National Accountability Bureau on Friday. Nawaz is likely to appear before the accountability court during the court proceedings on Friday.

The accountability court on October 26 had issued arrest warrants for Sharif in two references — the Avenfield flats reference and the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment reference and subsequently, adjourned the hearing till November 3.

Nawaz remains in London along with his sons Hasan and Hussain to spend time with his ailing wife Kulsoom, undergoing treatment for lymphoma.

During a high-level party meeting in London on Monday, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif dispelled all rumours that were being spread to loosen Nawaz Sharif’s grip over his party. The two also assured Nawaz that the party stood behind its embattled leader and would not accept a minus-Nawaz formula under any circumstances.
