ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Wednesday that the government is working to expand the horizon of Prime Minister’s National Health Programme in all districts of the country.
Responding to a question during the questions hour, Minister of State for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Darshan said that in the first phase the programme was being implemented in 40 districts. He said that the programme was designed to provide financial protection in connection to healthcare facilities to families living below poverty line.
The minister said that through Prime Minister’s National Health Programme, each enrolled beneficiary family was entitled to secondary indoor healthcare services, worth Rs 50,000 per year, and seven priority indoor healthcare services, worth Rs 250,000 per year.
Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashidi said that the online system for registration and redressal of grievances had been centralised and upgraded to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and their families.
