LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that we are determined for the progress and prosperity of the country and work is being done efficiently to move the country further.
He was talking to a delegation of PML-N in London, today. The chief minister said that the PML-N government has served the masses as a sacred trust and added that Pakistan of today is more peaceful and prosperous than before. The PML-N government did not make tall claims for overcoming the load-shedding but made practical steps and wriggled the country out of the darkness by eliminating the menace of load-shedding, he said.
The chief minister further said that development projects are being completed in all the localities to ensure composite development in the province and schemes worth billions of rupees have been completed on priority basis in less developed and far-flung areas. All the development projects are an example of their own with regard to transparency, he added.
DEATH OF PML-N MPA LIAQAT ALI KHAN CONDOLED:
Separately, the Punjab CM has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Chaudhry Liaqat Ali Khan, an MPA of PML-N.
In his condolence message, the chief minister has paid tributes to the socio-political contributions of Chaudhry Liaqat Ali Khan and said that he was an experienced parliamentarian as well as a committed political worker who rendered invaluable services for the party. He services will be remembered for a long time, he added. The chief minister extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
Chaudhry Liaqat Ali Khan was the husband of PML-N MNA Iffat Liaqat.
