KARACHI: Police sources confirm the death of 25-year-old Asad Ali Laghari, son of slain Sindh United Party (SUP) leader Anwar Laghari, in Tando Bago near Badin on Monday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Hakim Ali Jalbani the victim expired under mysterious circumstances during a visit with friends. Instead of taking the deceased to a hospital, Furqan Magsi, Awais Magsi and others first chose to inform the chairman of Tando Bago committee.
The police have arrested the friends of the victims, the SHO added.
After the post-mortem examination, Laghari’s body was handed over to his family. According to sources the body showed no visible marks of torture.
The arrested individuals ascribe Laghari’s death to an over dose of drugs and alcohol, however the victim’s family has rejected all such claims and have shown determination in filing a First Information Report (FIR) to find out the true cause of death.
